1. An electrical appliance housing, comprising:
a hard plastic housing body having a wall with an aperture, the housing body having at least one integrally molded bar extending into the aperture, the at least one integrally molded bar having a free end supporting a base, wherein the at least one integrally molded bar extends generally parallel to a plane of the aperture; a soft plastic membrane directly bonded to the base and the at least one bar so no water can reach an interior of the housing and the at least one integrally molded bar supports the membrane; and an actuator button fastened to the base, the actuator button and the base are separate components that are joined together, wherein the actuating button protrudes beyond the membrane towards an outer side of the housing body.
