PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera system which is simple in circuit configuration and low in cost.SOLUTION: In a camera system 1 including: a plurality of camera modules 3 to 6 for imaging the front, back, right and left sides of a vehicle; and display means 7 for displaying the pickup images of those camera modules 3 to 6, the camera module 6 for imaging the retreating direction of the vehicle comprises: an imaging part 6a for imaging the retreating direction of the vehicle; an image generation part 6b for processing a first image picked up by the imaging part 6a to generate a second image; and a control part 6c for allowing the display means 7 to display a vehicle peripheral image constituted of the image picked up by the imaging part 6a and a plurality of images picked up by the other camera modules 3 and 5 when the vehicle travels forward or stops, and for allowing the display means 7 to display the image picked up by the imaging part 6a when the vehicle retreats. |
