PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple light modulator device compatible with a plurality of modulation systems including modulation systems with higher values than 16 QAM.SOLUTION: The light modulator device includes a dual drive orthogonal light modulator and an orthogonal light modulator that executes BPSK or QPSK modulation, using an output signal of the dual drive orthogonal light modulator as an input. The dual drive orthogonal light modulator generates an optical signal with phases and amplitudes of 2, 4, 8 or 16 signal positions on a complex plane according to a modulation system to be used. |
