PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-destructive and simple technique for detecting a first area and a second area formed in the same quartz piece and differing from each other in a positive/negative direction of a X axis.SOLUTION: From a quartz piece 1 having a first area 11 and a second area 12 differing from each other in a positive/negative direction of a X axis, an electric characteristic value, for instance the oscillation frequency, of each divided area is acquired by paired electrodes 32 and 33 connected to an oscillating circuit 42 and arranged on the two sides of the quartz piece 1, and information for perceiving a boundary line 14 between the two areas is outputted on the basis of the acquired electric characteristic value and positional information on the two areas. Therefore the first area 11 and the second area 12 can be detected in a non-destructive and simple way. As a result, the work process of manufacturing oscillation apparatuses is facilitated by providing exciting electrodes 15 and 16 for output use and exciting electrodes 17 and 18 for temperature compensation use in the first area 11 and the second area 12, respectively. |
