PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a casting die-cooling device and method capable of improving a cooling efficiency by feeding a refrigerant to the inside of the casting die at a temperature close to a boiling point while preventing deterioration of the casting die and a refrigerant pathway.SOLUTION: A casting die-cooling device 1 for cooling a casting die K by a refrigerant circulating in a refrigerant pathway 2 is provided with: an expansion tank 3 pressurizing the refrigerant to boil at a preset boiling point T0; a casting die-cooling part 4 cooling the casting die K by the vaporization heat of the boiled refrigerant; an orifice 5 provided at the upstream side of the casting die-cooling part 4; a pump 6 pressure-feeding the refrigerant which is pressurized in the expansion tank 3 toward the orifice 5; and a heating unit 7 which is provided at the downstream side of the pump 6 as well as at the upstream side of the orifice 5 and heats the refrigerant to a temperature T2 close to the preset boiling point T0.
