<p>The purpose of the present invention is to adequately smooth wrinkles out of a fabric medium while printing on the medium. To achieve this purpose, provided is a printing system (10) for printing on the fabric medium (50), the printing system including: a print head (12); a feed mechanism (14); a tensioner (16) for applying tension to the medium (50) towards upstream in the feed path, the tensioner being located upstream of the print head (12) on the feed path along which the medium (50) is fed; and an iron heater (18) serving as a medium heating unit to heat the medium (50) while in contact with the medium (50), the iron heater being located between the tensioner (16) and the print head (12) on the feed path. The printing system (10) is adapted such that the tensioner (16) applies tension to the medium (50) to thereby push the medium (50) against the iron heater (18), and the iron heater (18) is brought into contact with the medium (50) while heating the medium (50), thereby ironing wrinkles out of the medium (50).</p> |
