PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical image management system and an image reading apparatus capable of accurately and easily associating read image data of a document with a patient.SOLUTION: A patient reception apparatus 40 receives a patient who has come to a hospital. A medical image server 30 manages patients on the basis of patient information of patients received by the patient reception apparatus 40 and transmits patient identification information which specifies the patient managed in response to a requirement of transmission. A control part of an MFP 60 requires the medical image server 30 to transmit the patient identification information. The control part of the MFP 60 receives the patient identification information transmitted from the medical image server 30. An image reading part of the MFP 60 reads an image printed on a print medium. The control part of the MFP 60 transmits the image data of the image read by the image reading part to the medical image server 30 associating it with a patient specified from the patient identification information. |
