The arrangement has front and rear clamping elements arranged in a transport direction of a metal strip, and a loop lifter (4) arranged between the clamping elements. One of the clamping elements is designed as a rolling stand. The loop lifter has a loop lifter roller (5) that is attached to the metal strip with engagement force by using a positioning device. The lifter roller is symmetrically loaded with the engagement force transverse to the transport direction of the metal strip. The positioning device has a positioning unit (7) designed as a hydraulic cylinder unit.
