1. An apparatus, comprising:
a first voltage-controlled oscillator connected to receive a first non-constant analog signal and configured for providing a second non-constant signal having a frequency depending on the value of the first signal; a first and a second detector, each connected to receive the second signal; and a reference clock configured to provide a reference clock signal to the first and second detectors, wherein, the first detector is configured to provide a first discrete-time signal representative of first time-interval averaged frequencies of the second signal, the time-interval being determined by two rising edges of the reference clock signal; and the second detector is configured to provide a second discrete-time signal representative of second time-interval averaged frequencies of the second signal, the time-interval being determined by two falling edges of the reference clock signal.
