PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolyte for an aluminum electrolytic capacitor, capable of increasing withstand voltage of the electrolyte while maintaining electric conductivity thereof, and to provide an aluminum electrolytic capacitor using the same.SOLUTION: An electrolyte additive (A) for an aluminum electrolytic capacitor, containing an alkylene oxide adduct (P) of a branched alcohol (F) which is represented by general formula (1) R-O-(RO)-H, is used. [In the formula, Rrepresents a C6-C20 branched alkyl group; Rrepresents a C2-C4 alkylene group; and m represents the average number of moles of RO added and is a number of 3-15.] The branched alcohol (F) is preferably a secondary alcohol and/or a tertiary alcohol. In the general formula (1), Ris preferably an ethylene group. |
