Embodiments of the present invention provide a method and an apparatus for transmitting alarm-related information. The method comprises: sending a first message to an IRP manager, wherein the first message carries an alarm reporting method supported by an IRP proxy; and receiving alarm reporting method configuration information sent by the IRP manager according to the alarm reporting method supported by the IRP proxy, wherein the alarm reporting method configuration information indicates a method for the IRP proxy to report subsequent alarm information. According to the embodiments of the present invention, the method and the apparatus for transmitting the alarm-related information bring convenience for the IRP manager to perform alarm relativity processing by coordinating the alarm reporting method between the IRP proxy and the IRP manager.
