A friction clutch having a driving element located between two driven elements has elastic strips freely supported on the face of a driven element and engaged by a push-rod associated with a rocking lever pivoted on the hub of the other driven element and engaged through a roller by a cam sliding on the crankshaft of a loom. A clutch for the crankshaft of a loom driven by a motor 1 through gears 2, 3 comprises a driving ring 7 secured to the gear 3, and two driven rings 5, 6 secured to the hub of a gear 17 driving the loom. The ring 5 carries, pivoted thereon, levers 10 having push rods 9 and rollers 12 engageable by a cam member 14. To reduce the shock in starting and so prevent marking of the material, elastic delay elements in the form of blade springs 13 are secured to the ring 5 at 22, 23 and are contacted by the push rods 9 on initial engagement of the clutch, continued movement of the push rods 9 to the engaging position bends the blade springs 15 and the full torque of the clutch is transmitted.</p> |
