The traction drive device (100) has a spring element (6) which is acted upon guide rail (300) in the direction of chain (200) with a restoring force. A clamping device (1) has a lever attached to a base by a bearing pin. A helical spring is arranged between the base and the clamping unit, to urge a friction element against the outer jacket surface of base or the inner jacket surface of lever, in order to dampen the rotational movement of the lever. A rotatable contact structure for the tensioning rail (400) is provided at distal end of the lever.
