The present invention relates to a method for testing a gas detector and, more particularly, to method for testing a gas detector, which can reduce errors of a gas detector during test working of an offshore structure by testing the malfunction of the gas detector prior to the installation on the offshore structure, and can increase the efficiency of maintenance and repair work of the gas detector. The method for testing a gas detector comprises the following steps: a standard writing step of arranging the sequence of a gas detector test by type of gas detector and writing a standard along with photos; an equipment preparing step of checking the preparation state of gas detector testing equipment; a gas detector checking step of checking the type of gas detector; a testing step of conducting the gas detector test by type of gas detector; a malfunction determining step of determining the existence of a malfunction of the gas detector; and a reporting step of reporting the test results of the gas detector. |
