PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device capable of preventing a recording head from being damaged when impact is applied to the recording device.SOLUTION: The recording device comprises: a recording head for discharging ink; a carriage capable of moving toward a scanning direction of the recording head; a carriage guide shaft extending along the scanning direction and guiding the carriage toward the scanning direction; a cap part elastically contacting and protecting the recording head when the carriage is positioned at a predetermined position of the movement area of the carriage and absorbing impact in a first direction applied to the recording head due to the action of the elastic contact; and impact absorbing means for absorbing impact in a second direction applied to the recording head due to engagement to the carriage. When the carriage receives impact and is going to rotate around the carriage guide shaft, the cap part suppresses rotation operation toward the first direction of the carriage, and the impact absorbing means suppresses rotation operation toward the second direction of the carriage. |
