PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce time for being set in a fixable temperature, concerning a fixing device with a fixing member constituted of a belt member. SOLUTION: A pressure roll 62 forming a nip part N, which recording material passes through between the pressure roll 62 and a fixing belt 61 fixing toner on the recording material, is constituted to freely move in a direction in which the pressure roll 62 contacts with/separates from the fixing belt 61. A ceramic heater 64 heating the fixing belt 61 while contacting with the fixing belt 61 is constituted to move in the contacting/separating direction of the pressure roll 62 while maintaining its contact state with the fixing belt 61 corresponding to the contacting/separating operation of the pressure roll 62 with/from the fixing belt 61.
