An abrasive sharpener (2) having an integrated fire starter (12a, 50), light source (88) and aerophone (90). The sharpener (2) has a pair of sharpening slots (12a, 12b), including a carbide slot (12a) having carbide abrasive elements (20) and a ceramic slot (12b) having ceramic abrasive elements (22). An open 5 cavity (52) and an adjacent slot (59) are formed in a housing (54) and receive a pyrophoric rod assembly (50) having a pyrophoric rod (60) and attached handle (62).
