The method involves providing peripheral surfaces and adjacent side surfaces of crankshafts (1) as rotationally symmetrical, central and eccentrically located surfaces. The coarse machining process of the peripheral surfaces and adjacent side surfaces of the crankshaft after performing partial hardening by using fine machining process. The dry grinding or fine dry grinding process is performed as the initial process of the fine machining process. An independent claim is included for a lathe used for performing usable finish-processing of workpiece.
