PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transflective liquid crystal display device that can achieve transmissive display while maintaining a reflective display performance equivalent to that of a reflective display device, and to provide electronic equipment including the transflective liquid crystal display device, and a drive method for a transflective display device.SOLUTION: A transflective display device 1 includes: a reflective electrode disposed in each of a plurality of pixels 50, and a first substrate 14 where the reflective electrode is disposed; a transparent electrode 21 opposing to the reflective electrode, and a second substrate 23 where the transparent electrode 21 is disposed; and a liquid crystal layer 30 disposed between the first substrate 14 and the second substrate 23, in which a major axis direction of a liquid crystal molecule group is parallel to the surfaces of the first substrate 14 and of the second substrate 23 and twisted between the first substrate 14 and the second substrate 23. Reflective display is carried out by using the reflective electrode, and transmissive display is carried out by using a space between pixels 50 of the reflective electrodes. |
