This buckle is configured so that the engagement claw of the buckle can engage with each of saw tooth-like engagement grooves formed in the outer surface of a band. The buckle comprises: a buckle body provided with a bottom plate and a ceiling frame, which face each other, and also with side plates which connect the bottom plate and the ceiling frame, the buckle body having an inside which serves as an insertion space through which the band is inserted; and an operating piece horizontally disposed within the ceiling frame, the operating piece having one end having the engagement claw formed on the lower surface thereof, the engagement claw being capable of engaging with each of the engagement grooves of the band, the operating piece having the other end serving as a pressing section for unlocking the engagement. The operating piece is supported at the middle point thereof by a connection shaft which connects the side plates, and this enables the operating piece to rock about the middle point as the support point. The buckle is characterized in that a control piece for controlling the rocking of the operating piece is provided to the buckle body and in that, while the engagement claw is being engaged with one of the engagement grooves of the band, the control piece functions as a spring which enables the band to approach the buckle and prevents the band from moving backward, the spring pressing the engagement claw toward the engagement groove. |
