PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress an increase in resistance of an intermediate transfer belt in association with a long-term use, and suppress an image defect due to leakage of a transfer current between adjacent transfer units.SOLUTION: Primary transfer rollers 24C and 24Y are arranged to face photoreceptor drums 20C and 20Y with an intermediate transfer belt 141 on which full-color toner images are transferred therebetween. During transfer operation at a primary transfer nip part NC, and non-transfer operation at a primary transfer nip part NY adjacent thereto, the primary transfer roller 24C receives inflow of a first transfer current having a reverse polarity to a polarity of a toner. Whereas, during the transfer operation at the primary transfer nip part NC, and transfer operation at the primary transfer nip part NY, the primary transfer roller 24C receives inflow of a second transfer current having a reverse polarity to the polarity of the toner. The absolute value of the first transfer current is set larger than the absolute value of the second transfer current. |
