A lithium-ion secondary battery positive electrode active material which contributes to improving rate characteristics and cycle characteristics, and a lithium ion secondary battery having the same are provided. This lithium ion secondary battery is characterized by having a positive electrode active material main body, and an adhering part which adheres to at least part of the surface of the positive electrode active material main body, wherein the adhering part is configured from a compound represented by chemical formula (ZrO)2P2O7.
