The element (1) has an elastically deformable membrane (2) for receiving a fragile object. An annular-shaped holding element (3) holds the membrane in a suspension position. The holding element comprises two segments (3.1, 3.4) secured to the membrane. The segments are movable between a service configuration in which distance (d) between the segments is relatively small, and a service configuration in which the distance between the segments is relatively large. Tension of the membrane in the service configuration is greater than that of the rest configuration. An independent claim is also included for an assembly for placing a fragile object in suspension in a package. |
