An apparatus and a method for generating local oscillation are provided to offer a broadband frequency and a multi band frequency by using one PLL unit and a digital clock generation unit. A local oscillation control unit generates a frequency generation control signal and a switch control signal according to a transmission/reception frequency band for transmitting or receiving the arbitrary data(501). An RF PLL(Radio Frequency Phase Lock Loop) unit generates a first frequency signal composed of a predetermined sinusoidal wave. A frequency generating unit generates a second frequency signal composed of a digital sinusoidal wave or a DC signal according to a frequency control signal(503). A synthesizing unit generates the frequency synthesizing signal by synthesizing the first frequency signal and the second frequency signal(505). A switch unit operates at least one switch or more to connect a specific band pass filter among a plurality of the band pass filters and the synthesizing unit according to the switch control signal(507). The specific band pass filter filters the frequency synthesizing signal and generates the local oscillation output signal and outputs the generates local oscillation output signal to the outside(509). |
