PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an error detection device capable of detecting an error without changing a memory width in a buffer memory.SOLUTION: An error detection device detects an error in transferring input data by a storage device that temporarily stores input data of a predetermined length and that outputs output data of a predetermined length. The error detection device comprises: a storage unit that stores held data of the predetermined length; a logic control circuit that sets an initial value of the held data to the storage unit, calculates a first exclusive OR of the input data and the held data, and calculates a second exclusive OR of the output data and the first exclusive OR; and a determination circuit that, if the second exclusive OR does not match the initial value, determines that an error has occurred. |
