The present invention relates to a molding apparatus for horizontal continuous casting capable of increasing economic feasibility by increasing durability despite the relatively simple structure of a tube mold and a mandrel, and increasing durability and productivity of a product by optimizing the length ratio of a support flange and the circumferentially cross-sectional area of an inlet opening. According to the present invention, the molding apparatus for horizontal continuous casting of a large diameter pipe comprises a tubular mold, and a mandrel. The mandrel includes a mandrel main body part concentrically contained in the tubular mold and forming a cylindrical metallic molding gap for an inflow molten metal in a space toward the tubular mold; a plurality of supporting flanges which is separately arranged across an inlet opening for the molten metal at the end area of an inlet for the mandrel main body part along a circumferential direction to be in contact with an internal diameter of the end of the inlet for the tubular mold; and a plurality of stop flanges in contact with the end of the inlet for the tubular mold by protruding from an external surface of the mandrel main body at the front of inlets of the respective supporting flanges. |
