PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lumbar support and a chair capable of restraining an oppressive feeling caused by a point contact between a lumbar support body and a lumbar part when a seating person is seated and moderately supporting the lumbar part by enlarging the deformation tolerance of the lumbar support body.SOLUTION: A lumbar support 70 is used in a chair including a seating surface and a backrest erected on the seating surface. The lumbar support includes: an elastically deformable lumbar support body 71; a pair of side frame members 73 supporting a support part of the lumbar support body 71 on the right and left sides; and a fitting member 80 for supporting the side frame members 73 and fitting the side frame members 73 to the backrest. The lumbar support body 71 is provided with backward deformable free edges formed on the upper and lower sides.
