NEUTRON SOURCE LITHIUM TARGET, AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem in practical use of a small neutron source, such as peeling of a Li film from a Cu cooling base.SOLUTION: A neutron source lithium target that generates neutrons in response to radiation and injection of protons, and a method of manufacturing the target are provided. The neutron source lithium target has a four layer structure of Cu/Pd/Li/LiN in which Pd, Li, are LiN sequentially stacked on a Cu base as a cooling base, and generates neutrons by aLi(p,n)Be reaction caused by an action of protons on a Li layer.
