PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video reproduction device and a video reproduction method which can shorten time until reproduction start of video data subsequent to metadata by shortening time for acquiring metadata from a server.SOLUTION: When a video file acquisition part 11 acquires a video file from a server 200 for the first time, metadata of the acquired video file is stored in a metadata storage part 13. When the video file acquisition part 11 acquires the same video file from the server 200 for the second time or later, matching of metadata is determined by comparing part of acquired metadata and part of the metadata stored in the metadata storage part 13 at the time of acquiring part of metadata. In the case where matching of metadata is confirmed, the video file acquisition part 11 is controlled so as to cancel acquisition of the remaining part of metadata and to start acquisition of video data. |
