<p>This coil component has the following: a base component (1) formed from a ferromagnetic dielectric material, the magnetization of which changes with the application of a voltage; and external electrodes (2a, 2b) formed at both ends of the base component (1). Also, a coil (4) is arranged so as to have an inductance that depends on the magnetic permeability of the base component (1); for example, the coil (4) could be wound so as to suspend the external electrodes (2a, 2b). The principal component of the abovementioned ferromagnetic dielectric material is formed from a ferrite compound containing at least strontium, cobalt, and iron. This results in a coil component having a controllable inductance, for a variable inductor or the like.</p> |
