A method for determining the quality of an RFID tag is disclosed. If an RFID tag testing device transmits a testing signal to an RFID tag to be tested, the RFID tag which receives the testing signal transmits a reflection signal in response to the testing signal. The RFID tag testing device measures a signal intensity of the received reflection signal, compares the reflection signal with a defined standard intensity and determines the quality of the RFID tag. The standard intensity comprises a minimum intensity and a maximum intensity required to determine if the RFID tag is normally operated. According to the present invention, when the quality of the RFID tag is determined, a normal operation of the RFID tag is checked, and performance deviation between products of the RFID tag is minimized as well. Also, the testing device determines that only an RFID tag having optimum specifications regarding a recognition distance has fair quality by taking account of an actual situation where an RFID tag is required.
