<p>The invention relates to a method for warning road users comprising the steps of placing at least one beacon, having a transmitting range, at a fixed predetermined location. It comprises the step of programming the at least one beacon, by transmitting programming signals to the at least one beacon and receiving the programming signals by the at least one beacon, wherein the at least one beacon is located in the transmitting range of the programming means. It comprises transmitting warning signals from the at least one beacon, wherein the warning signals are representative to the received programming signals. It comprises receiving the warning signals from the at least one beacon by at least one receiving means carried by a road user, wherein the receiving means is located in the transmitting range of the at least one beacon.
