The present invention relates to a method and a system for setting a supplementary service, which sets a supplementary communication service based on information acquired through short-range wireless communication among a plurality of terminals. The method for setting a supplementary service by using short-range wireless communication in a communication system according to the present invention comprises the steps of: receiving a message including identification information of a first communication terminal, information on setting or releasing of a supplementary service, and identification information of a second communication terminal, from the second communication terminal which acquires the identification information of the first communication terminal and the information on the setting or releasing of the supplementary service through short-range wireless communication with the first communication terminal; authenticating the requested supplementary service based on the identification information of the first communication terminal and the identification information on the second communication terminals which are included in the message; and setting or releasing the requested supplementary communication service when the authentication of the service is passed.
