The motor car (K) has an engine compartment (2) which is covered by a hood (10). A sound generating system is provided for generating an artificial engine sound. The sound generating system is provided with an electrically controllable vibration exciter (8). The vibration exciter is secured at a component (7). An acoustic and vibration decoupling portion (9) is surrounded by a casing of the motor car. The component is arranged in the engine compartment. An independent claim is included for a carrier for motor car.
