PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a problem of impairing operability of a user for determining roles of provision and reception devices when the roles of the devices have not been determined in advance.SOLUTION: A communication device comprises: search means for searching another communication device; and setting means for setting a role of the communication device to be that of a provision device or that of a reception device by using first information included in a signal transmitted from the other communication device and second information stored in the communication device, when the other communication device has been searched by the search means. When having received third information which differs from the first information and is transmitted from a device operating as a provision device, the communication device operates as a reception device regardless of the second information in performing setting processing of the device and a communication parameter.
