PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus capable of accurately evaluating a boundary position in a sound ray in which an intima-media complex boundary is unclear to measure an intima-media thickness with a high accuracy.SOLUTION: A boundary depth position determination part 8 determines a boundary depth position of an intima-media complex in a clear sound ray on the basis of an intensity distribution of sound ray signals corresponding to clear sound rays discriminated by a boundary discrimination part 7. In addition, the boundary depth position determination part 8 evaluates a boundary depth position of the intima-media complex in an unclear sound ray to determine the boundary depth position of the intima-media complex, by pattern-matching the sound ray signal corresponding to the unclear sound ray with a sound ray signal corresponding to a clear sound ray adjacent to the unclear sound ray as a reference signal. An IMT calculation part 9 calculates an intima-media thickness (IMT) on the basis of the determined intima-media complex boundary depth positions. |
