PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for shielding radiation, inside a building in a region where radiation generating sources are distributed on a surface of the ground, in which a radiation shielding material is easily installed, an indoor radiation dose can effectively be reduced, a vertical surface is not completely shielded, and safety is assured.SOLUTION: A radiation shielding method of the present invention comprises laying a sheet-like or plate-like radiation shielding material on a floor surface in a room that is positioned in a height range of 1 m to 20 m above the ground, in a building in a region where radiation generating sources are distributed on a surface of the ground. Preferably, a vertical surface from the floor surface in the room up to 1.5 m high in a vertical direction is covered by the radiation shielding material. Thus, a radiation dose rate can be reduced by 10% or more at a position whose height from the floor in the room is 0 m or more and 0.5 m or less, and a radiation dose rate can be reduced by 5% or more at a position whose height from the floor in the room is 0.5 m or more and 1 m or less. |
