PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor driving device with a low probability of stepping out of a motor (a drum motor) and a washing machine including the motor driving device.SOLUTION: A control device 16 updates a target number-of-revolutions of a drum motor 4 by addition of a numerical value N to the target number-of-revolutions at a predetermined period, and in order to rotate the drum motor 4 at an updated target number-of-revolutions, imparts values of AC voltage Vu, Vv and Vw which should be applied respectively to coils Lu, Lv and Lw owned by the drum motor 4 to a drive circuit 52. The drive circuit 52 controls the motion of an inverter circuit 51 according to the values of the values of the imparted AC voltage Vu, Vv and Vw, and accelerates the number-of-revolutions of the drum motor 4. The control device 16 calculates a difference of a number-of-revolutions ω of the drum motor 4 estimated from the target number-of-revolutions before update at the predetermined period and output voltages of respective Hall sensors Hu, Hv and Hw. The control device 16, when the numerical value N to be added to the target number-of-revolutions is a first numerical value N1 and the calculated difference exceeds a threshold value d1, reduces the numerical value N from the first numerical value N1. |
