PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the running cost of a blast furnace facility so that the production cost of pig iron is reduced.SOLUTION: A device 5A for blowing pulverized coal is constituted so that the pulverized coal is blown into a blast furnace body together with heated and compressed blowing air from a tuyere 8 of the blast furnace body 2. Reformed coal, which is obtained by reforming low-grade coal and has self-heating properties, is used as a raw material of the pulverized coal. A heat exchanger 25a is arranged as a heat transfer means for transferring the heat generated by a self-heating function of the reformed coat to heat necessitating portions. In the heat exchanger 25a, the heat generated by the self-heating function of the reformed coat passing through a pulverized coal supply pipe 22 is transferred to, for example, the air to be sucked into a device 23 for feeding the blowing air so that the sucked air is heated. It does not matter if an inactivation means is arranged for inactivating the reformed coal to the extent that the self-heating function thereof is left behind by a predetermined quantity. |
