A device for protecting a paint applicator tool such as a paintbrush 20 comprises a flexible sheath 10 having an aperture 18 formed in one end, a self-sealing means 14 for sealing the aperture 18, and an elasticated opening 16. In use, the sheath is turned inside-out, the handle 22 is inserted into opening 16 and the sheath 10 unrolled over the brush ferrule 24 and the bristles 26. The elasticated opening 16 forms an airtight seal around the handle 22 of the paintbrush 20. Excess air is forced from the sheath through aperture 18 through the unrolled sealing means 14 which, when released, rolls up on itself thus sealing the aperture 18. |
