PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an extension member which easily adds a functional component including an IC tag, a sensor, or the like to a pile so as to add a further function to the existing pile.SOLUTION: An extension member 1 which is attached on a pile 80 and adds a further function to the pile 80 serves as a main body 10 formed from a cylindrical elastic body having three or more side walls, and having a first flat plate part 12a and a second flat plate part 12b which are two side walls among the three side walls. The first flat plate part 12a is formed with an attached part 12ab which is attached on the pile 80, and the second flat plate part 12b is formed with a first functional component attachment part 12bb which is attached with a first functional component 30 so as to add a further function to the pile 80.
