<p>Two parts of a plastic clam shell are connected by a living hinge 16. Opposite the hinge a tab 44 on one part fits into a slot 34 on the second part and holes 28, 50 on the tab and on the second part align so that they can be locked together by a security tag 54. Ideally the shell is made from clear vacuum formed PET. Each part may be in the form of a right angled triangular prism with two rectangular or square walls and two triangular side walls, forming a cube or cuboid when closed. A flange can extend around the open edge of each part. The tabs hole 50 is preferably smaller than the hole 28 adjacent the slot and they can be formed by punching them out.</p> |
