PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an immersion tube in an RH degassing facility and a method for cooling a core metal of the immersion tube, provided with an effective core metal cooling device at a low cost without setting the dedicated additional cooling structure for cooling the core metal. SOLUTION: The immersion tube for RH degassing facility is provided with a refractory set in the inner side part, the core metal set at the outer side of the above refractory, circulated gas piping set on the surface at one side of the core metal, and monolithic refractory covering the core metal and the circulated gas piping. The circulated gas piping is set to the core metal portion at the lower side from at least circulated gas injecting hole, and the cooling of the core metal is performed with the circulated gas flowing in the piping.
