The present invention provides a touch panel input apparatus and a driving method thereof capable of reducing malfunctions and improving touch recognition by reducing effects of noise. The present invention provides the touch panel input apparatus and the driving method of the touch panel input apparatus using the same, the touch panel input apparatus comprising: a sensing circuit unit which includes a sensing capacitor receiving a predetermined voltage through one end thereof; a switch which selectively transmits a driving signal to the one end of the sensing capacitor or switches the one end of the sensing capacitor into a floating state; and a frequency hopping unit which determines a frequency of noise by using the amount of change in voltage charged in the sensing capacitor corresponding to the operation of the switch, and outputs a signal having a frequency different from the frequency of the noise.
