PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering system including an impact absorption mechanism that does not require proficiency of a worker at the time of manufacture.SOLUTION: A steering system 100 having an impact absorption mechanism 40 includes an upper column tube 21 that supports a steering shaft 1 so that the steering shaft 1 can be freely rotated, a lower column tube 22 that is fixed to a vehicle body and is movable relatively to the upper column tube 21, a bracket 35 coupled to the upper column tube 21 and having a notch 35a on the side of a steering wheel 8, and a capsule 34 fixed to the vehicle body and meshed with the notch 35a. The impact absorption mechanism 40 includes a bracket fixture 41 fitted into the bracket 35, a capsule fixture 42 fitted into the capsule 34, and a fracture part 43 that connects the bracket fixture 41 and the capsule fixture 42 to each other and fractures when the bracket 35 and the capsule 34 are moved relatively to each other. |
