PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve detection accuracy of rotation of a target detection object by preventing a change that is difficult to be estimated in the magnetization direction of a magnetic element composing a magnetic field detection part and to reduce the dimension of a rotation detection device in the direction of rotation axis thereof.SOLUTION: A rotation detection device 1 detects the rotation state of a target detection object by detecting a magnetic field, generated by a magnet 21 or 24, by use of a magnetic field detection part 31 or 33 while a first support body 11 provided with the magnet 21 or 24 rotates with respect to a second support body 12, provided with the magnetic field detection part 31 or 33, as the target detection object rotates. One end or the other end of each magnetic field detection part 31 or 33 is covered by a magnetic member 41 or 46. The magnetic member 41 or 46 guides the magnetic field such that, when a pair of magnets of different polarities respectively approach the one and the other ends of the magnetic field detection part, a magnetic field generated by the pair of magnets is applied to the intermediate portion of the magnetic field detection part. |
