PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain good alignment accuracy without flapping of a sheet tip by blowing air.SOLUTION: A sheet discharge device includes: sheet discharge roller pairs 6 for discharging a sheet P; a shifting tray 202 for loading the sheet P discharged by the sheet discharge roller pairs 6; an air blower 400 for blowing air to the sheet P discharged by the sheet discharge roller pairs 6; and a CPU 101 for controlling start and stop of blowing air and an amount of blowing air of the air blower 400 according to an amount of discharging the sheet P discharged from the sheet discharge roller pairs 6. The sheet discharge device controls the start and stop of blowing air and the amount of blowing air according to the amount of discharging the sheet for each discharged sheet, suppresses the flapping of the sheet tip PF, and prevents buckling or sticking of the sheet P, thereby obtaining good alignment accuracy.
