PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cyclone type vacuum cleaner which can easily perform a dust discarding or the like by easily attaching/detaching a cylindrical body. SOLUTION: A dust collecting means 4 which is freely detachably attached to the vacuum cleaner main body 2 in which an electric blower 5 is built is constituted by having a dust collecting container 11, the cylindrical body 12, and a secondary filter body 13. In this case, the cylindrical body 12 is freely detachably attached to the dust collecting container 11, and at the same time, in which small holes 24 and 25 working as a primary filter are installed. The secondary filter body 13 is freely detachably attached on the downstream side of the cylindrical body 12, and at the same time, keeps a bag-like secondary filter 34 installed. At the central section of the cylindrical body 12, a protuberance 27 which projects and extends to the secondary filter 34 side is installed. Therefore, when the cylindrical body 12 is attached to/detached from the dust collecting container 11, the cylindrical body 12 can easily be held by gripping the protuberance 27, and thus, a possibility for dropping the cylindrical body 12 can be reduced.
