The carrier 11 for the ladder cord or tape 12, 13 of a venetian blind is lightly fastened on the rotatable operating shaft for the lift cords and comprises two curved legs 11 to grip around the operating shaft and has at least one axially directed member 15, 16, which in conjunction with the radial projection 14 holds the cord or tape 13 when under tension, on the carrier and also functions as a stop which comes up against an abutment on the head rail or other member such as the bearing of the shaft, to cause the carrier to act as a friction clutch against the movement of the carrier on rotation of the shaft to close or open the slats. |
