PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel control method for a mattress with a stimulus application function capable of prompting a user to comfortably fall asleep, and a mattress with a stimulus application function having a novel structure.SOLUTION: The control method for the mattress with the stimulus application function includes: stimulus application steps (S30-S39) of applying stimulus on the basis of a detection result of body pressure measurement means 88 for measuring a body pressure applied to a cell 24; sleep detection step (S5) of detecting a breathing cycle of a user from the measurement result of the body pressure measurement means 88 and detecting the onset of sleep of the user on the basis of change in the breathing cycle; and a stimulus application ending step (S6) of ending the stimulus application steps (S30-S39) when the sleep detection step detects the onset of sleep of the user.
